Job Purpose:

As an Area Sales Manager (Hydrogen & Industrial Gases), you will be responsible in developing and implementing a regional strategy in MEA – Middle East & Africa. Your home-base will be Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates and you will be expected to frequently travel in the region. You will select and support sales agents, distributors, and manage direct sales processes for complex projects and will work closely with the product teams in Europe and North America.

Working hours & days:

8 hours per day / 40 hours per week / Sunday – Thursday, 5 days a week, 8:00 – 17:00 (incl. 1 hour lunch break) according to work levels with occasional overtime as required.

Working Environment:

Equally in the office and out of the office with customers.

Travel Required:

Regular national & international travel.

Job Responsibilities:

– Responsible for developing regional sales strategies and implement them.

– Select, manage and support local sales agents and distributors.

– Interact with customers, government agencies, industry organizations and other stakeholders for sustainable

– Industrial gases and hydrogen energy products in MEA.

– Responsible for developing and closing sustainable industrial gases opportunities in MEA while also assisting in the development of opportunities in different territories.

– Ensuring that company needs are represented in policy and regulatory frameworks by working closely with the company’s management and supporting organisations.

– Oversee the sales process from beginning to end, evaluate client’s needs, schedule sales presentations, collect the necessary information to open new client accounts.

– Develop budgetary and detailed proposals and present to customers and follow through contract negotiations.

– Build profitable, long term relationships with customers, and ensure that these relationships are well managed.

– Engage in developing and supporting marketing campaigns and events to promote company’s brand and products.

– Gather and provide competitive intelligence to the team to position the products to win.

Job Requirements:

– Candidate must possess at least Bachelor’s Degree / Post Graduate Diploma / Professional Degree in Business Studies / Administration / Management, Commerce or equivalent.

– Bachelor’s Degree and / or Post Graduate Degree in Engineering is a plus.

– At least 5 years job relevant B2B sales experience. Previous sales experience in industrial gases in particular Hydrogen is a plus. Previous sales experience in industrial plant sales for Hydrogen Generation or Hydrogen Recycling is a plus.

– Excellent relationship building, communication & interpersonal skills.

– Track record in consultative selling techniques and strong negotiation skills.

– Experienced in managing a geographical sales territory and/or product category.

– An excellent command of spoken and written English at least level B1 of the CEF table.

– Ability to read and understand technical drawings and contract documents.

– Good workload management skills; must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

– Ability to work under pressure and remain calm, solve problems, be courteous with customers and take responsibility for the outcome.

– Meet deadlines and observes time management.

– Willingness to travel regionally and internationally on a regular basis.

– Ability to independently acquire customers locally and abroad.

– Proactive and flexible attitude.

– Inventive and high degree of self-reliance.

– Outspoken team player.

– A valid car driving license is a must. The UAE driving license is a plus.

– Advanced user knowledge of the MS-Office Suite in particular Excel, Word, Power Point.
