As a Director of Technical Services, you will be responsible to optimize the operating business through continuous analysis of the Farah Experiences Leisure Facilities in relation to the Company Core Process; thus, directly impacting the delivery of guest and colleague experience.

The development of all rides and attractions for the Farah Experiences Leisure Facilities in order to keep breakdown time at a minimum and to improve maintenance and operation.

Explore new technologies and improvements on the equipment to be fit for purpose, up to date and cost efficient.

Individual must be well versed in engineering, control systems, reliability methodologies, maintenance and operation of rides and attractions, best practice and strategic development.

Your job role will also include:

  • Set & develop and monitor Standards and Guidelines
  • Execute asset performance management
  • Manage overall physical assets life cycle
  • Ensure maintainability of all existing and new installations at all leisure facilities
  • Manage the processes of reliability methodologies
  • Engineering support for new and existing rides and attraction for all leisure facilities
  • Manage and perform quality control checks, ensuring the safety, functionality, effectiveness and reliability of the ride system and equipment
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of the Preventive Maintenance Plan for rides and attractions in order to extend the natural life of Company assets and keep unplanned downtime to a minimum.
  • Ensure all relevant systems of work, including SOP’s, Risk Assessments, Method Statements and Training Records are fit for purpose, up to date and of a standard that is industry leading and auditable.
  • Coordinate the Design Change Request (DCR) process to ensure operational design improvements are included all projects.
  • Develop and implement long range rehabilitation program (5-10-year master plan).
  • Develop and manage annual operating budget by actively seek and implement cost saving programs in order to provide positive financial results.
  • Develop, implement and manage Operating Year Maintenance Budget including Labour, Supplies, Spare Parts and Capital Expense.
  • Develop, standardize, assess and review department processes, policies, procedures, forms and reference documents in order to structure the department and assist Colleagues in their operational needs.
  • Develop and achieve department and Company objectives, action plans and key performance indicators in order to support the Company Balanced Scorecard approach in achieving the Executive Strategic Plan.
  • Identify, procure and oversee implementation of Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for use in the Park and subsequent developments.
  • Maintain Monthly Operational Readiness at 99.5% in order to provide the most reliable shows, attractions and facilities for our Guests.
  • Manage annual labour headcount and adequately justify expansions to headcount in order to insure proper resources are available.
  • Perform design reviews in order to ensure inclusion of operational design criteria.
  • Conduct periodic competition checks and/or benchmarking in order to gain learning and make improvements to enhance business performance.
  • Provide operational design input to Park Designers, Architects and Engineers in order to ensure the most efficient and maintainable facilities are designed.
  • Understand, Meet and Focus on activities and quality standards that ensure the satisfaction of Guests/Customers (both external and internal).
  • Identify and pursue opportunities to improve Guest/Customer service.
  • To comply with ISO standards at all times in order to drive and improve business excellence through monitoring, measuring, analysing performance and taking corrective or preventative action.
  • To understand, follow and enforce all Standard Operating Procedures in order to exceed the operational requirements and ensure Guests receive the highest standards of quality and service at all times.
  • To enforce and adhere to all UAE laws, Health, Safety & Environmental policies, industry and Company rules and regulations, reporting any safety concerns or incidents to management in order to minimize risk and maintain a clean safe and hygienic environment for all Guests and Colleagues.
  • To manage emergency situations that may arise in order to minimize possible damage, loss or injury to any Guests, Colleagues or Company property.
  • To ensure Colleague schedules, breaks and/or rotations are fair in order to increase productivity and maintain Colleague’s wellbeing.
  • To provide assistance for exclusive use events when needed, and to assist in the preparations of facilities for special functions, themed evenings, etc. in order to contribute to the success of the Company.
  • To maintain buildings, facilities, equipment and supplies in order to minimize damage, reduce waste and control costs.

To be considered for this role, you will nee to have:

  • Degree or Diploma in Electrical, Instrumentation or Controls Engineering
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the Theme Park or Amusement Industry with sound knowledge in industrial controls/automation/maintenance system and principals
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent leadership and organizational skills
  • Must be proficient in PLC programming
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio and computerized maintenance system (CMMS), preferably Maximo
  • Individual must be able to work productively within a team environment
  • Possess excellent problem-solving skills as well as keen analytical abilities
  • Ability to apply analytical skills to data collected within maintenance to apply to problem solving
  • Individual must be well versed in the field of engineering, particularly in control system, reliability centered maintenance, root cause analysis, maintenance and operation of rides and attractions

Desirable:

  • Theme Park and or Amusement Industry experience preferred
  • Management, Leadership, Engineering, Asset and Facility Management
  • Certification or participation in associations / groups that focus on safe operation of attractions (IAAPA, ISO, ASTM, etc.)
  • Attended trainings/certification on Leadership, Physical Asset Management, and Root Cause Analysis
  • Certification relating to Theme Park and or Amusement Industry
  • Master’s Degree in related field
