Lead, manage and support regional and terminal organizations with respect to Asset Management in DP World, with specific subject matter expertise and focus on the following activities:

  • Asset Management organization
  • Asset Management decision making
  • Asset Risk Management
  • Strategic Asset Plans
  • Long Term Asset Planning, OPEX and CAPEX budgeting
  • Integrated Management Systems and use of support platforms (SharePoint)
  • Information Strategy
  • Leverage configuration and use of EAMS for better Asset Management outcomes (Maximo)
  • Development and management of asset related data, including development of procedures to manage data
  • Advanced data analytics of asset related data (Power BI)
  • Optimization of asset related resources
  • Train and coach Business Unit teams to develop Asset Management Capability

This applies to all assets as defined in Global Operations and Engineering Policy, which is based on ISO 55000.

This role shall oversee development, training, implementation, and project management of engagement projects, as mentioned above, in line with DP World’s Strategy and Business Unit requirements.

Additional responsibility will include continual development of Asset Management methodologies within DP World as well as supporting and contributing to the development of cross functional programs in Global Operations & Engineering.

In addition, this shall include, but not be limited to; the provision of support to the implementation in terminals of Enterprise Asset Management System (Maximo); equipment to EAMS/TOS integration; on board equipment / asset diagnostics and system integration; monitoring & telemetry; any appropriate integration to other systems and applications leveraging IoT platforms and similar technologies.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Ensure that the highest levels of safety are applied in all activities, demonstrating visible, felt, safety leadership in all interactions with Business Units and colleagues
  • Monitor Asset and Asset Management performance and compliance to processes and standards in Business Units
  • Develop tailored improvement strategies for Business Units in collaboration with the terminal, prioritising outcomes with impact
  • Development and governance of Asset related documents for standardization of global practices
  • Interpret operational requirements, and identify and address design parameters to ensure Asset solutions are implemented accurately, within budget and meeting expectations
  • Apply Total Cost of Ownership and life cycle principles to asset related decision making and plans
  • Participate in the development and enhancement of training materials for Business Units to increase their Asset Management capability and develop individual competencies
  • Collaborate with Business Units to systematically define, design, develop, monitor, and refine Business Unit AM Plans that include the implementation of an Asset Information Strategy and required Asset related solutions and applications
  • Provide input to Business Units Risk Management Plans that will anticipate reliability-related and non-reliability related risks that could adversely impact Business Unit operations
  • Through consistent use and practical application, promote Lean Thinking and Lean Leadership
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues from Reliability, R&D, Automation, Energy Management, Operations Optimisation and Systems & Technology, to ensure integrated solutions that deliver long term and short-term Asset Management goals
  • Contribute to and support Lean Business System development and implementation
  • Continuous Improvement (following DP World Lean Business System)
  • Collaborate and support Reliability team (following DP World Reliability Framework)

Qualifications, Experience and Skills:

  • Experience implementing Asset Management (ISO 55000), Minimum 5 years
  • Experience in Risk Management (ISO 31000), Minimum 3 years
  • Budget management skills and financial understanding to support long term planning process, CAPEX and OPEX budgeting cycles
  • Project Management (PMP Certification – Desired)
  • Management experience with respect to EAMS (Maximo) and asset related technologies
  • Understanding of Reliability and Lean methodologies
  • Degree specialization in mechanical, electrical and / or electronic discipline – Master’s level.
  • Knowledge of container terminal industry business process, asset reliability, maintenance and repair, systems, finance, integrated technologies, methods, and standards (desirable but not essential)
  • Excellent computer literacy including familiarity with SharePoint and Power BI. Use of coding for data analytics and familiarity with SQL
  • Auditor and/or business diagnostic experience
  • Presentation and facilitation skills
  • Great interpersonal skills which afford influence and engagement with all levels of the organization
  • Open mind and positive attitude to bridge divergent needs by playing multiple roles
  • Solid change management skills (communication and data-based decision making) and the ability to drive change and win people over
  • Excellent knowledge of English language
  • Willing to travel
