Position Description

Volvo Bus Middle East, Africa and CIS (MEAC) is a fast expanding area within Volvo Bus Corporation (VBC). It is responsible for both Buses sales and Service Sales business, partnerships with Volvo’s own and private importers, key customers, body-build partners and progress of the total bus business in Middle East, Africa and Commonwealth of Independent States. With the development and rapid interest in electro-mobility in many new markets, we are forecasting growth in the coming years.

We are looking for a well-qualified individual to join us as Director, Service Market MEAC.

The purpose of the role is to lead the MEAC region in the area of Commercial Service Solutions focusing on parts sales, maintenance contracts, on-line service, Technical Support and telematics products resulting in increased uptime and customer satisfaction.

This role is also expected to develop the future commercial service sales strategy and business by innovating and commercializing new services and solutions as we accelerate toward electromobility.

Main Responsibilities

  • Identify new service market business potential and create an environment of co-operation between markets within the MEAC area.
  • Ensure the most efficient use of service sales resources, programs and initiatives.
  • Develop organization structure and staff competencies.
  • Develop and launch the use of Volvo’s web based tools including the establishment of customer portal environments.
  • Develop the Volvo bus parts business to ensure year on year growth including support for Volvo’s Bus dealer/ importer network and sales to major customers.
  • Manage and promote penetration of service agreements in the MEAC region.
  • Be responsible for tender and contract reviews across the MEAC region.
  • Propose/ Evaluate and manage requests for Technical Goodwill and service campaigns.
  • To manage and deliver the Release for Sales service market criteria for new markets or new products
  • Coordinate reporting of all areas related to Commercial service sales in MEAC.
  • This role is the primary contact for markets in relation to Quality Journal (QJ) items, Market Quality Reports (MQRs), outstanding Argus issues, technical investigations, etc.
  • Set up targets, KPI´s and action plans for own and private dealers and ensure execution.
  • Support Dealers and Importers with technical trainings and develop technical competence through the Bus Key Technician (BKT) initiative in the markets
  • Network development and expansion to cater to existing and new products

Required Skills, Experience & Competencies

  • At least 10 years of progressive service market experience (technical and commercial) at a management level, preferably from the automotive or heavy vehicle industry
  • Customer-focused, strategic and forward-thinking
  • Strategic planning competence, process-oriented with strong technical knowledge
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to inspire, influence and challenge
  • Strong interpersonal skills to influence, build strong relationships and manage a complex network of internal and external stakeholders across geographies
  • Proven ability to collaborate successfully within different cultures across a diverse geographical area.
  • Understanding of private importer environment and business
  • Fluency in written and spoken English; Knowledge of French and any other language is an added advantage.
  • Willingness to flexible schedule and medium level of travel


  • Degree in Business, Engineering or related disciplines
  • Experience working with productivity tools including MS Office, Excel & PowerPoint
