Job description: Job Purpose

Provide support with the development of:

  • A long-term outlook for crude oil, gas, LNG, oil products and petrochemicals to 2050
  • Short-term analysis of the global economy and oil and gas markets
  • Macroeconomic analysis of the UAE and Abu Dhabi economies
  • Robust inputs to be used in the project evaluation process, including assessments of country risk, and supply, demand and price forecasts for specific markets

Job Specific Accountabilities

Macroeconomic and macro-energy data

  • Develop and maintain data systems to collect and store macroeconomic and macro-energy data. On the macroeconomic side this will include both sector and country data. On the macro-energy side this will include supply, demand and price data for different commodities.
  • Develop a global macroeconomic outlook – covering key economies, both in the short-term and to 2050.
  • Provide analysis of where the economy is headed, at what speed, and why. Specifically, contribute to country analysis, highlighting key economic and industrial trends.
  • Provide in-depth analysis of the UAE economy, with a focus on sustainable economic development.
  • Provide sectoral analysis of the economy – both short and long-term, to help inform the long-term energy outlook.
  • Participate in the development of long-term scenarios to be used in strategy and corporate business planning.
  • Support the development of a long-term energy outlook for oil, gas, LNG and petrochemicals. This includes a supply, demand and price outlook to 2050.
  • Contribute to ‘rapid response’ analysis on short-term oil and gas market developments.
  • Provide inputs into project evaluation, including assessments of country risk, and supply, demand and price forecasts for upstream and downstream products.
  • Collaborate with other research groups across ADNOC to ensure consistency and robustness of ADNOC’s market analysis.

Any Other Key Accountabilities

  • Perform any other key initiatives / projects activities specifically related to the mandate of the ADNOC Group CEO, the Government of Abu Dhabi, and the UAE Government.

Supervision

  • Plan, supervise and coordinate all activities in the assigned area to meet functional objectives.
  • When asked, help to train and develop assigned staff on relevant skills to enable them to become proficient in their job and deliver their respective business objectives.

Budgets

  • Provide input for preparation of the Function / Division / Department / Section budgets, assist in the implementation of the approved Budget, and work plans to deliver business objectives.
  • Investigate and highlight any significant variances to support effective performance and cost control.

Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures

  • Implement approved Function/ Division/ Department/ Section policies, processes, systems, standards and procedures in order to support execution of the work programs in line with Company and International standards.

Performance Management

  • Contribute to the achievement of the approved Performance Objectives for the Function/ Division / Department/ Section in line with the Company Performance framework.

Innovation and Continuous Improvement

  • Design and implement new tools and techniques to improve the quality and efficiency of operational processes.
  • Identify improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in line with best industry standards in order to define intelligent solutions for issues confronting the function.

Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Sustainability

  • Comply with relevant HSE policies, procedures, controls, applicable legislation, and sustainability guidelines in line with international standards, best practices and ADNOC Code of Practices.

Reports

  • Provide inputs to prepare MIS and progress reports for Company Management.

External Communications & Working Relationships

  • Shareholders, counterparts & members of the ADNOC Group, as required.
  • Local and international vendors, contractors and third-party service providers.
  • Government organisations and entities.
  • Intergovernmental organizations, and international bodies.
  • ADNOC Group Companies.

Minimum Qualification

  • Bachelor Degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration, Engineering, or Data Science disciplines.
  • Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Programming languages such as R, Python, and/or Excel VBA are desirable

Minimum Experience, Knowledge & Skills

  • 9 years’ relevant experience.
  • Experience in the Oil and Gas industry is desirable.
  • The successful candidate must be data literate, able to manipulate data easily and quickly using modern techniques. Experience in structuring and organizing large sets of data would be useful.

Professional Certifications

Master’s degree or professional certification in Marketing is preferred.
