The jobholder is responsible to manage the quality assurance’s framework, process and initiatives for all processes within all functions in the company, with focusing on the core business operations, to ensure continuous improvement, system integrity and customer orientation in line with the company strategies and policies, and continuous improvement and excellence for processes and systems.

This role includes; leading the development and communication of Quality Management Tools ; i.e. My Idea!, i5 Project Management, Quality Toolbox, participate and lead the improvement projects and benchmarking studies, and liaising with departments to achieve internal and external customer satisfaction.

The jobholder shall have an end-to-end view of all functions and associated processes to ensure common understanding of business while developing and reviewing continuous improvement tools and projects.


Quality’ Performance

  • Use the developed set of standards and measurement tools to evaluate overall quality performance; i.e. delivery lead time, product quality and condition, customer complaint instance handling.
  • Develop and advise on the updates on the quality function processes to ensure comprehensive and effective processes and supporting the quality function performance.
  • Use the developed set of standards and measurement tools to evaluate overall quality performance and provide statistical analysis to support the evaluation, such as delivery lead time, product quality and condition, customer complaint instances and handling for both the companies across the entire business
  • Assist in the review of an internal business process with its owner, provide the necessary tools, standards or benchmarking if required, recommend performance management tools, such as, quality driven KPIs.
  • Maintain knowledge about the company mechanisms for continuous improvement, support the implementation and evaluate the effectiveness, and working knowledge of government and industry quality assurance codes and standards.
  • Maintain knowledge of quality improvement tools and methodologies used in the industry and be able to recommend the suitable tool and facilitate the use of these tools in the company.

Continuous Improvement

  • Oversee and advise on the internal processes with in accordance with quality tools to ensure the process improvement of the audit findings and customers’ complaints.
  • Advice on the necessary tools, standards, performance control measures, or benchmarking, to derive the necessary amendments on the processes.
  • Introduce and maintain knowledge of quality improvement tools and methodologies and advise on the proper usage for each to support the functions.
  • Monitor, analyze and follow up the quality issues, and trends to ensure aligned and effective corrective actions are identified and implemented.
  • Support and execute improvement projects in line with top management requirements.
  • Lead small to medium sized improvement initiatives under the supervision of higher management
  • Communicate with and advise other functions on actual or potential quality impact of business processes and support functions to define and implement corrective actions.
  • Report to management on the effectiveness of the improvement initiatives and projects and communicate the outcome and lessons learned to stakeholders
  • Follow-up on systematic quality issues / trends highlighted by Quality Care and/or other functions and coordinate with relevant stakeholders to ensure that corrective actions are identified and implemented.
  • Critically review proposed changes to assess potential effects on quality, with the objective of preventing quality issues from reoccurring.

Supply Standards

  • Setting the raw material vendor prequalification criteria for quality and participate in vendor qualification/renewal programs, generate gap analysis report for supplier development, ensuring the compliance of suppliers with the appropriate manufacturing practices
  • Develop a set of parameters and mechanisms to measure the quality of supplied goods and services and come up with recommendations to improve the overall quality of the suppliers.
  • Advise and recommend on the development of the vendors’ prequalification criteria to ensure placement and coverage of all quality measures, and required product certifications.
  • Recommend on the vendors’ qualification and renewal occasions, in reference to all inspection and quality records.
  • Design, Update, and generate analysis reports for the suppliers’ performance to ensure aligned common measures to assess the suppliers, and complied to manufacturing’ practices.

Policies & Procedures

  • Advise on the establishment and updates of the quality control standards and specifications to ensure alignment with the quality function strategies and policies.
  • Develop a set of parameters and mechanisms to measure the quality of supplied goods and services and come up with recommendations to improve the overall quality of the suppliers.
  • Review, and develop the establishment and development of policies, procedures, forms, templates, flowchart…etc. to support functions in their process management.

Quality Management Tools

  • Support the execution of the Borouge employee suggestion scheme, “My Idea!” in all locations, by developing periodic reports, by supporting the a network of experts (100+) to review and evaluate the ideas where and if needed, by managing the IT system that supports the suggestion scheme and by investigating opportunities to improve the system and process on an ongoing basis.
  • Support designing and conducting i5 Continuous Improvement Methodology training programs for Borouge personnel to institute quality management-focused behavior throughout the organization – i5 Project Management and Toolbox
  • Support maintaining and designing templates and tools related to i5 continuous improvement, and i5 network of champions


  • Support the recording of the Borouge benchmarks by reaching out to benchmark owners on a regular basis
  • Support the end-to-end performance benchmarks, and followup on actions resulting from benchmarking activities

Minimum Qualification

  • University Degree in Industrial Engineering or Business Administration or other related fields

Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills

  • 6 – 8 years of experience in Quality.
  • Thorough understanding of ISO 9001 quality requirements
  • Hands-on Continuous Improvement, and Business Process Re-Engineering
  • Experience with process / system quality improvements in a chemical industry setting
  • Thorough understanding of end-to-end operations in the chemical industry
  • Thorough understanding of Performance Improvement tools and methodologies, such as statistical tools, process analysis, root-cause identification, process improvement levers
  • Strong project management skills, with experience in defining and implementing new processes
  • Well-established computer skills in office productivity software such as Microsoft Office
  • Proven people management and leadership skills with ability to motivate and manage teams
  • Strong influencing capabilities especially in a multi-stakeholder environment
  • Excellent facilitation and coaching abilities, both one-on-one and in group settings
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written (business proficiency in English would be required)

  • SIX SIGMA (Black Belt)
