Job Description Role: Head of Technology GRCLocation: Abu DhabiROLE PURPOSE:Head of Department will:Technology Strategy, Portfolio and Projects Management.Lead Information Technology Governance, Risk Management, Compliance, Quality Assurance and Controls, Financial Planning and Control, Portfolio and Projects Management, and Strategic Planning functions in achieving the department objectives..Drive technology strategy and technology direction and align both within the division and across the organization. Collaborate with other departments to define functional strategies, stories and alignment of objectives and own the process for defining strategies..Deliver framework and flow that assist in translating top-level strategies into detailed lower level demand needs with a consistent approach and result. Formalize transformation initiatives and execution plan, and define the business outcomes and prioritize their execution.Manage technology portfolio and projects office and govern the delivery of programs, as well as develop of controls, metrics and KPIs to monitor and track the delivery of projects, track the outcomes of the strategic initiatives, and govern the change management.Design, manage, review and continuously improve the portfolio and project management function to maintain the alignment with business objectives.Technology Finance Management.Manage CapEx of projects and OpEx budget cycles and control business demand and drive projects prioritization, manage technology financial planning and control, derive cost efficiencies and saving opportunities and track the implementation and ensure the outcomes.Develop, implement and maintain the management information system (MIS) to help Technology operate with increased effectiveness, consistency, and customer satisfaction..Manage relationships and activities with Business Partners from Finance, VMCP, HR, and communications functions, amongst others.Technology Risk and Assurance Management:.Manage global technology risk management functional capability including the processes of risk identification, risk assessment, risk treatment and risk monitor..Implement Bank’s enterprise risk management objectives and mandates across Technology department..Establish, manage and maintain the Risk & Control Self Assessment process of the Technology department.Maintain the IT Risk register and map identified issues to relevant risks..Monitor the performance and effectiveness of established controls and optimize them for risk reduction..Manage the development and reporting of Key Risk Indicators to measure the effectiveness of ITD processes..Conduct scheduled risk assessments & direct initiatives to minimize residual risk to align with the target risk appetite..Monitor and Track Corrective Action plan for the issues identified through Internal/external audits, reviews and self-identified..Conduct technology and process assurance reviews on regular and on-demand basis..Coordinate and manage internal/external audits across ITD and point of contact for other departments..Participate in the review of Standards and Processes to ensure required controls are addressed.Technology Compliance and Control Management:.Develop systems security and configuration standard baselines and ensure all systems (Security devices, servers, and other devices) comply with those standard baselines.Maintain and manage the implementation of regulatory and industry compliance requirements related to ITD..Ensure technology controls are in place to protect technology systems and minimize risks.Define & establish technology controls to meet new Bank regulatory requirements and mitigate new technology risks.Protect technology systems from known business risks by continually monitoring, reviewing & enhancing the defined technology controls to ensure they are effective at all times in mitigating these risksTechnology Change and Release Management.Manage and plan change, release, quality & compliance control gates.Chair and Conduct Weekly CAB Meetings.Review, assess and approve emergency changes for both infrastructure and application changes.Collaborate with all ITD teams, Business and all stakeholders to ensure the success of Changes and releases.Ensure the integrity of all configuration Items involved in the changes and releases throughout their lifecyclesTechnology Governance and Process Management.Develop Technology policies, standards, procedures and guidelines in accordance best practices and frameworks.Manage technology performance KPIs and metrics to ensure the IT organization delivers value to the enterprise.Manage technology processes and oversees the development and maintenance of IT policies, procedures, and methodologies.Technology problem management across divisions.IT HR management, which includes overseeing IT workforce, sourcing, training and development of staff and suggesting the right sourcing models.IT administration management including monitoring and tracking of IT premises needs, seating requirements, office boy management and general administration.Works with the CIO and business leadership team, providing broad insight to IT domains and capabilities in support of enterprise wide business decisions..Establishes and implements continuous-improvement programs for the technology organizationKey Accountabilities of the Competencies Required for this role:.Strategic thinking.Strong capability of program management and IT transformation.Strong leadership capability, executing as appropriate in the areas of responsibility.Expertise in budget planning, financial management and workforce management.Broad knowledge of current and emerging technologies, technology directions, and strategic application to business needs, including the ability to differentiate between a relevant trend and hype.Ability to improve operational efficiency, service delivery and information management across the IT organization.Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technology solutions in business terms, establish rapport and persuade othersPrevious experience:.Bachelor’s or master’s degree in IT related field, or equivalent work experience.+15 years in IT and business/industry.A minimum of seven to 10 years of leadership responsibilitiesExperience in business/industry (beyond IT), managing cross-functional teams or projects, and influencing senior-level management and key stakeholders
