Support and assist in development and implementation of the Business Continuity and Resilience for the Enterprise to ensure it is fit-for-purpose and complies with UAE law as well as national and international Standards for business continuity, organizational resilience, incident and crisis management.

Business Continuity and Resilience Program Test and Exercise

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Support the Head of Business Continuity and Resilience and direct reports to gather, review and integrate information to develop and update documents for test and exercise of Business Continuity and Resilience Programs, including, but not limited to:
  • Scheduling of Business Continuity and Resilience Teams test and exercise
  • Test and Exercise Scenarios keyed to:
  • site risk assessments
  • department business impact analyses; and
  • dependencies between departmental business continuity, ICT Disaster Recovery and site crisis management plans for office locations in Abu Dhabi and, Barakah and Korea
  • Business Continuity and Resilience inputs to ICT Disaster Recovery Plans
  • Coordination with Internal Communications and HR/Talent Management notification and communication to staff, office locations and sites with information for team activation and incident update.
  • Plans and procedures for activation and use of primary and secondary locations Business Continuity and Resilience Teams.
  • Plans for recovery of vital records, critical information systems, services, and data at primary and secondary locations.
  • Testing of systems and technology used in BC & I/CM Plan implementation on a regular basis to ensure currency and operability.
  • Debrief teams and develop lessons learned.
  • Identification of changes needed in current plans, procedures and job-aids for Business Continuity, Crisis and Incident Management and Resilience.

Preparation for Activation and Operation of the BCR Plans

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Support the Head of Business Continuity and Resilience Program and direct reports through:
  • Collating, reviewing and integrating information to develop and update the BCR Response plans ready for testing and exercising.
  • Exercising the Business Continuity and Resilience Teams at the Abu Dhabi Head Office and Barakah Nuclear Power Plant (BNPP).
  • Assisting in the testing of systems and technology used in the exercise and activation of Business Continuity, Crisis and Incident Management Teams to validate it meets business requirements.
  • Ensuring the activation process for the Business Continuity and Resilience Teams at the Abu Dhabi Head Office and Barakah Nuclear Power Plant (BNPP) remains up-to-date and applicable.

BCR Program Reviews, Compliance Assessments, Audits and Benchmarking Support

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Support the site (Abu Dhabi Head Office or Barakah NPP) Business Continuity and Resilience team to gather, review and integrate appropriate ‘evidence’ and information for, but not limited to:
  • Assisting in assessments, QA, internal and external audits of the Business Continuity and Resilience Program to ensure progress is reflected in any QA, internal or external audit report.
  • Assisting with the business continuity and resilience program peer review / benchmarking with other entities to ensure the appropriate actions are included in the continuous improvement system for the relevant business function to action.
  • Identifying business continuity risks associated with non compliance to business continuity legal requirements and standards and developing corrective action plans to improve compliance and reduce non-conformity as part of the continual improvement proram.
  • Assisting in ensuring Business Continuity and Resilience plans are aligned with requirements of the relevant laws, standards and regulations of the United Arab Emirates as well as regulatory authorities.

Business Continuity and Resilience Program Capacity Building

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Identify performance objectives for the Business Continuity and resilience Programs and provide feedback on their achievement to ensure they meet the business requirements.
  • Assist Head of Business Continuity and Resilience Program and direct reports in conducting research in professional practices for business continuity, incident and crisis management and recommending improvements to the Program.
  • Contribute to research knowledge dissemination and information sharing within the Division in a way that assists with building internal capabilities of UAE Nationals to help optimize their performance.
