Job description: JOB PURPOSE:

Lead, plan and manage all operations within the Lubricants Marketing function to drive new product and business development, sales and promotional activities of all ADNOC Distribution’s lubricant brands and products within the target markets in order to maximise revenues and market share while establishing a strong and stable brand.

Job Specific Accountabilities

Brand and Value Proposition

 Lead the effective collaboration with the Marketing team to develop overall marketing strategy for lubricants, lead campaigns/ initiatives to increase lubricant market penetration, brand reputation etc. ensuring alignment with the overall commercial strategy.

 Identify the target market segments and analyze relevant product requirements in order to assess, define and evolve a quality value proposition for ADNOC Distribution’s brand of lubricants.

 Conceptualize ADNOC Distribution brand of lubricants for Middle East & other international strategic locations in order to build and communicate a strong brand and establish market presence.

 Lead formulation of detailed launch strategies and integrated communication campaigns via suitable channels, in conjunction with the branding and advertising section, in order to communicate the brand and value proposition in an effective and cost optimal manner to the target audience.

 Review and approve all product packaging and design initiatives to ensure a strong reflection of brand and value proposition through the product for creating a top of the mind recall amongst target customers.

New Product and Market Development

 Assess the market conditions and requirements of different geographies to evaluate suitable geographies for business expansion; and recommend to management, in close collaboration with the Marketing team.

 Lead all new product developments by analyzing relevant market research, assessing inputs based on new formulations recommended by Specialist Tech Formulations, assessing customer feedback provided by the sales team in order to ensure a successful product portfolio for ADNOC Distribution lubricants

Credibility Initiatives and Strategic Tie-ups

 Lead the process for gaining the approval of key established OEM’s (Original Equipment Manufacturer) in order to gain credibility.

 Seek and establish strategic tie-ups with key B2B clients in order to promote sales as well as market reputation as being the preferred brand for key players in the industry.

Pricing and Promotions

 Review and provide inputs to the marketing and promotional plans to assure alignment with the business plan.

 Manage the effective execution of promotional events to educate the participants about the product and to network with corporate and high net worth potential customers who can be captured as revenue generating customers.

 Supervise the preparation, issuance, and delivery of sales materials, exhibits, and promotion programs to the distributors in order to ensure effective implementation of all promotional plans.

 Define the price points for the products, develop and communicate price margins to the sales team on the basis of the set gross margins, costs and define budgets, to negotiate in order to provide differential pricing to incentivize key customers.

Supply Chain

 Supervise and approve the selection of procurement and sourcing solutions to implement continual cost savings initiatives and ensure the overall efficiency of the supply chain function

 Identify and analyse potential cost-saving opportunities from raw material acquisition to product delivery and potential average price increments opportunities for the product mix in order to optimize profitability.

Sales Plans

 Monitor on a regular basis (monthly, quarterly or annually as deemed suitable) the achievement of sales plans and evaluate the performance of the geographies under sales network coverage.

Training Programs

 Ensure provision of quality training programs for distributors and sales team in order to develop relevant technical and behavioral competencies such as product awareness and market acumen.

Relationship Management

 Develop and maintain effective business relationships with all relevant internal departments and external entities such as clients, local, international and government authorities etc. with highest standards of business ethics, whilst promptly attending to all critical issues in-order to ensure the services required by the organization are delivered in the most effective manner.

 Plan and supervise the activities of the personnel and resources of the Section to achieve the Department objectives in an efficient and cost-conscious manner while ensuring implementation of approved operational plans for the Section in line with Department objectives.

 Develop the knowledge, competencies and innovative spirit in the Section and support the establishment of Personal Development Plans (PDP’s), Succession Planning and Talent pipeline within the Section in coordination with the Human Capability Group to continuously develop employees with emphasis on UAE Nationals to meet Emiratization targets.

Budgets and Operational Plans

 Compile and provide input for preparation of the Department budgets and regularly monitor expenditure against approved the Section budget levels.

 Investigate, highlight and reconcile any significant variances to ensure effective performance and cost control.

Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures

 Lead the implementation of approved Section policies, processes, systems, standards, procedures and internal controls in order to support execution of the Department work programs in line with Company and International standards.

Performance Management

 Implement the Company Performance Management System for individuals within the Section in accordance with Company approved guidelines and continuously monitor the achievement of the Section KPIs related to the approved Annual Performance Management Contract and the Balanced Score Card.

Organisation Structure and Development

 Review, develop and recommend the appropriate organisation structure for the Section that will best utilise human capital while proactively incorporating sustainability into the on-going work practices to meet the business objectives.

Innovation and Continuous Improvement

 Encourage innovation, enhance employee motivation and support initiatives for implementation of Change Management to continuously improve operations and services.

 Propose improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in line with ISO standards in order to define intelligent solutions for issues confronting the Section.

Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Sustainability

 Support the institution of an HSE culture and ensure compliance with relevant HSE policies, procedures, systems & controls and applicable legislation and sustainability guidelines across the Section in line with international standards, best practices and ADNOC Code of Practices.

 Ensure adequate HSE training and induction for all Section employees to meet HSE standards.

Management Information Systems (MIS) and Reports

 Prepare all Section MIS and progress reports to provide accurate and timely reports and necessary information to Company Management to effectively manage the business.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

Minimum Qualification

 Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or equivalent.

Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills

 10 years of experience in Marketing of petroleum products, of which at least 5 years in a managerial role, preferably in the retail sector or in a similar environment.

 Multi-functional operational management experience.

 Deep knowledge of business workflows, operations processes and systems.

 Experience of developing strategic plans for service-based industry.

 Strong experience in project management and the execution of complex projects that are critical to the delivery of business strategies and goals.

 Regional exposure and retail background are a plus.

 Innovative and conceptual thinking

 Highly skilled in aligning goals with strategic direction

 In depth knowledge of ADNOC Distribution’s business objectives, operations and of the regional laws and regulations

 Strategic thinking
